SorrelSites vs Join It
Both can run your membership. Only one moves you in for free and updates your website for you. Join It is genuinely easy and a fair fit for tiny clubs — but the move and the website edits are still on you, and there's a fee stacked on top of your payment processor.

Is SorrelSites a better fit than Join It for a small organization?
SorrelSites is the better fit for a small organization that collects real dues online and wants the move and the website work handled for it; Join It is the better fit for a very small club whose first priority is the lowest entry price. Join It starts at $29 a month and is genuinely easy to use, but it charges a percentage service fee on top of Stripe — about 3% on Starter, 2% on Total and 1.5% on Extra — and moving your data over to Join It is a do-it-yourself job. SorrelSites starts at $99 a month for up to 100 active members, month to month, with no setup fee and no cut of your dues. SorrelSites also rebuilds your website and maps your member list for you during the move, and afterwards you change the site by describing the change, previewing it, and publishing.
Who the AI actually serves
- SorrelSites
- Sprout, SorrelSites' AI, does the org's real work — it drafts board minutes, event pages, and website updates for you to approve, and it welcomes people curious about joining in your org's voice. Behind the scenes it also moves you in and rebuilds your website; later you change your site just by describing it, preview first, then publish.
- Join It
- Its AI doesn't welcome people curious about joining or do your org's real work the way Sprout does — and it won't move you in or change your website for you.
Moving in
- SorrelSites
- Sprout rebuilds your website and maps your member list for you to approve — free. And if something didn't come across the way you wanted, a real person here fixes it with you.
- Join It
- Easy to get started, but moving your data over is a do-it-yourself job.
Changing your website
- SorrelSites
- Type the change you want, see a preview, and publish when you're ready.
- Join It
- Comes with its own simple website builder, with embeddable widgets and your own web address on the Extra tier — lightweight, but real.
Running events
- SorrelSites
- Built-in event sign-ups with the ticket options you need and check-in at the door.
- Join It
- Built-in sign-ups and member check-in, with native paid registration for members (new); Eventbrite is optional, mainly for public ticket sales.
Fees on your dues
- SorrelSites
- No fees on your dues — you pay your processor, nothing extra to us.
- Join It
- A percentage fee on top of Stripe (about 3% Starter / 2% Total / 1.5% Extra).
What it costs
- SorrelSites
- One clear price, month to month. (Final numbers on our pricing page.)
- Join It
- $29 Starter / $99 Total / $199 Extra / Enterprise custom.
Connecting other tools
- SorrelSites
- Built in — no need to jump to a pricier plan to connect other tools.
- Join It
- Connecting other tools is held back to the $99+ tiers.
SorrelSites points Sprout, its AI, at the organization's own work — drafting board minutes, event pages and website updates for a person to approve, and welcoming people curious about joining — while Join It leaves moving your data in and changing your website as jobs your volunteers do themselves.
SorrelSites rebuilds your website and maps your member list for you to approve at no charge, with a real person to fix anything that did not come across the way you wanted; Join It is easy to get started with, but moving your data over to Join It is a do-it-yourself job.
With SorrelSites you change your website by typing the change you want, seeing a preview, and publishing when you are ready; Join It comes with its own simple website builder, with embeddable widgets and your own web address on its Extra tier — lightweight, but real.
Events are not a reason to choose between them: SorrelSites has built-in event sign-ups with the ticket options you need and check-in at the door, and Join It has built-in sign-ups and member check-in too, including native paid registration for members as a new addition, with Eventbrite an optional extra used mainly for public ticket sales.
SorrelSites takes no cut of your dues — dues and event payments land in your organization's own Stripe account and you pay your processor directly — while Join It charges a percentage fee on top of Stripe of about 3% on Starter, 2% on Total and 1.5% on Extra.
Join It costs $29 a month on Starter, $99 on Total and $199 on Extra, with Enterprise priced custom, while SorrelSites costs $99 a month for up to 100 active members and $199 for up to 300, billed month to month with no setup fee and 10% off if you pay annually. SorrelSites' plan size counts only memberships that are currently active, so lapsed, expired and cancelled members and captured contacts do not push your organization into a bigger plan.
Join It holds connecting other tools back to its $99-and-up tiers, so a club on Join It's $29 Starter plan cannot use them, while SorrelSites does not make you move up to a pricier plan to connect other tools.
When is Join It the better choice?
Sometimes it is, and we'd rather you land in the right place than the wrong one. Join It can be the better choice if:
- You run a very small club, want the lowest entry price (Starter at $29), and value extreme simplicity.
- You don't need much depth and you're comfortable with a lightweight site builder and responsive support.
