Founding cohort

Early, by invitation

Before SorrelSites opens generally, we're taking on three to five founding organizations and moving each one across personally. This page is the whole offer, including what we'd ask from you in return.

Why only three to five?

Because each founding organization gets moved across by hand, by the people who build SorrelSites, and that is not something we can do well at volume. The cap is a limit on our attention, not a marketing device — five is roughly what we can migrate properly before the autumn renewal season starts.

It also means the founding organizations shape what ships next. When there are five of you, the thing that annoys you gets fixed.

What does a founding organization get?

SorrelSites free through February 2027, then about half the standard rate for as long as you stay, and the move done with you rather than handed to you.

  • SorrelSites, free through February 2027

Every feature, no member cap games, no setup fee. That covers a full renewal cycle, so you can run your old system and SorrelSites side by side through the changeover without paying twice.

  • Then half the standard rate, for as long as you stay

After the free period your organization keeps a founding rate of half the standard price — not for a year, but for as long as you keep using SorrelSites.

  • We do the move with you, not at you

Your website gets rebuilt and your member list mapped for you to approve. A real person here is on the move itself — if something didn't come across the way you wanted, you tell us and we fix it with you.

What do we ask in return?

Three things, and they're written into the agreement rather than left as a favour: a case study, an honest review on a software marketplace, and a few reference calls. We'd rather be plain that the founding rate is earned than have it feel like a gift with strings discovered later.

  • A case study, with your approval on every word

We write up how the move went and what changed, and you approve it before it goes anywhere. If the honest version is unflattering in places, that is the version we publish.

  • An honest review on a software marketplace

One review, in your own words, saying what you actually think. We are not asking for a good review and nothing here depends on what it says — a review you didn't mean would be worth nothing to the next organization reading it.

  • A reasonable number of reference calls

Boards want to talk to somebody who has already done this. We'd ask you to take a handful of short calls over the first year — not an open-ended commitment, and never without asking you first.

Who is this a good fit for?

Organizations that are already planning to leave their current system before their January renewal, and whose members would notice if the move went badly. Founding organizations are useful to us precisely because they are real — a club with a live member list, dues that actually renew, and a website somebody depends on.

It is a poor fit if you need to be live next week, or if nobody at your organization can spare an hour or two during the changeover. We do the work, but we cannot approve your member list for you.

How do I put my organization forward?

Email support@joinsorrel.com and tell us what your organization does, roughly how many members you have, what you use today and when it renews. A person reads it and writes back.

If the cohort is already full when you write, we'll say so plainly rather than keeping you warm — and you can join the waitlist for general availability instead.
