A small club's real list of needs is short — the trick is telling it apart from everything a sales page wants to sell alongside it. ### The four that matter - Dues collected online, with reminders before they're due and a follow-up when a card fails. - One member list that stays current on its own, instead of a spreadsheet somebody maintains by hand. - Event sign-ups and check-in, without printing a list or building a spreadsheet from scratch each time. - A website a non-technical volunteer can update — by describing the change, not by learning a builder. ### What a small club can usually skip - Deep double-entry accounting — a bookkeeper or an accountant, not the membership tool, is the right place for that. - A branded native app — a website that works on a phone does the same job for a fraction of the cost. - A learning-management system, unless the club runs certification courses at scale. A fair rule of thumb: if a feature would need training to use, or a person hired to run it, it's probably built for an organization further down the road than a small club is today.
